Trip to Primate Rescue Center and Kentucky Equine Humane Center, Nicholasville, KY

The Primate Rescue Center is a primate rescue organization founded by Clay Miller and April Truitt in the late 1980s. Located in central Kentucky, the Center is a nonprofit sanctuary that provides lifetime care to more than 50 monkeys, apes, and chimpanzees.  In addition, they strive to alleviate the suffering of primates everywhere by working to toughen animal-protection laws and end the private trade of these animals in both the U.S. and abroad.

The KyEHC is a tranquil 70+ acre farm and safe haven for equines in need. Our horses come from a variety of backgrounds. Some arrive here surrendered by their owners and others have been rescued from abuse and neglect. Once healed and (re)schooled these wonderful horses are available for adoption to become someone's best friend and partner.
